Hey, cool!

However you jiggle it round, though, you definitely still have to end a Part on Slater driving into the darkness in tears. That's priceless...

I'm tempted to leave that ending as it is, and put in a break after

“Goodbye,” Michel whispered to her retreating back. Verdomme! What was a woman like that doing with an invertebrate accountant?

-- just before Max and Toni start prowling around. That's a natural break in time, and leads naturally to calling it "The Wake".

Part I -- The Funeral
Part II -- The Wake
Part III -- The Lab
Part IV -- The Volunteer, which is not only the name of the pub, but a foreshadowing.

And I want to use the phrase 'invertebrate accountant' at least once more :D
