Wizz for Archaism

People get into science for many reasons, but an underlying passion is a central component. The scientific life is varied and full of highs and lows, heady discoveries and doleful disillusionment.

Wizz for Archaism

Somewhere on these fora, though I can't discover where, tideliar (I think it was) said that if I managed to write and publish a piece in Nature that incorporated the words chthonic, eldritch and preternatural, I'd get a hug.

Read next week's Nature, and prep your hug.

Oh boy!

I think it might be a good exercise for us to now try to guess the topic of the piece based on the inclusion of those words!

I predict it is a serious treaty about bird sentience.

The operative is above, I'm afraid Henry. I can't make to the conference because my brother is getting married on the 20th, the selfish bastard. I can't get the requisite 3 weeks off work (understandibly).

...I might still give you a hug if we meet when I'm in the UK a couple of weeks later. Beer is definitely on though...

Alright, alright, in the interests of keeping the peace... Henry, I will hug you.

There, I've said it. Take that to the bank... and...and... put it in your savings account.

Do you three want to get a room?

LabLit charges only modest fees.

Remind's me of David Blunkett's three-in-a-bed romps: just him, her and the guide dog.

Henry. I love you. That is simply and wonderfully amazing.

How the f*** did you slip that past your sub-editors? Or did you pull rank and just use threats of extreme (blues-funk based) violence if they should alter your copy?

You are not only my new hero, but I shall definitely be buying you that pint or two.

and yeah, the hug too if you really want

I just exercised my natural charms, tiddles. And I'm bigger than they are, and use longer words.

:)
